The foundation Historic Monoposto Racing has been established in 1996 with the aim to keep formula cars from the 60’s and 70’s racing. HMR aims to provide customers with great racing at superb circuits with a wonderful atmosphere.

Ayrton Senna, Alan Prost, Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, Arie Luijendijk, Jan Lammers and many others have taken this route. All big stars in Formula 1 have, on their way to the top, driven in one or more of the classes that are raced under the HMR banner. After a successful karting-career the next step was very often Formula Vee, Formula Ford 1600, Formula Ford 2000 or Formula 3 on the way to the top. Many of these historically important cars have survived and are racing now, very successfully. This way an important piece of racing history is kept very much alive.

The HMR races are not only a great pleasure for the drivers but also for the fans who come to visit us during the several events. Close and fair racing offers a spectacle on a high level that is very suitable to promote products and companies that want to offer “something else” to their customers. The group is divided into 4 classes so there is always excitement all through the field.

Historic Monoposto Racing

The 2020 edition of the Marcel Albers Memorial Trophy, the Formula Ford 1600 Kent event created in 2014 to honour the life and career of Dutch single-seater talent Marcel Albers, has unveiled that it will race on the revamped Zandvoort Grand Prix venue during the traditional Pinkster Races event
The seventh running of the international event, which is run jointly by the Circuit Zandvoort and Historische Monoposto Racing organisations, will take place during the Pinkster Races event on the 29th, 30th and 31st of May, following hot on the heels of the Dutch Grand Prix to the Dutch dunes. Amongst the participating championships already announced for the event is the Benelux Porsche Carrera Cup and Historische Monoposto Racing series.
The circuit of Zandvoort is currently undergoing an extensive revamp to ready it for the return of the Formula One World Championship, modifications that range from upgraded facilities and amenities to changes to the circuit itself, including the already publicised final corner which will have a 18- degree banking and will form a highlight on the new Grand Prix track.
In keeping with tradition the event enjoys its budget-friendly stature. Entry fees, which include two races and a qualifying session €400,00 for non HMR competitors and €300 for competitors that choose to add the Marcel Albers Memorial Trophy races alongside the two races in the Historische Monoposto Racing series, run for pre-1982 machines.
Additional free practice opportunities are offered on Friday the 29th of May open to all competitors. Tickets for these free practice(s) can be purchased at Circuit Zandvoort.
The Marcel Albers Memorial Trophy will again run with a three-class system, for Pre-82, Pre-92 and post-92 cars with the overall winner winning the Marcel Albers Memorial Trophy and add his name to the growing list of international winners.
Entry for the Marcel Albers Memorial Trophy is now open and can be completed online at www.circuitzandvoort.nl/mamt for further information please contact Menno Weeda at Menno@circuitzandvoort.nl. or Helana van der Wouden at helana@monoposto.nl.
